Following this program, participants will be able to use the new Insulin Prescription Tool developed by the Ontario College of Family Physicians.

This will enable you to:

  • Select an appropriate insulin for the patient with diabetes.
  • Determine appropriate insulin dosing.
  • Titrate insulin.
  • Apply the Insulin Prescription Tool in clinical cases to demonstrate how this might work.

This learning activity, which includes reviewing a video, practice with the OCFP's Insulin Prescription Tool, and completing the case scenarios, should take 30 minutes. It may be useful to download and familiarize yourself with the Insulin Tool prior to beginning the program.
