Member Relations and Regional Affairs

The Board of Directors of the Ontario College of Family Physicians established the Member Relations and Awards Committee to advise the Board on the recruitment and retention of members, to solicit from the OCFP members nominees for CFPC and OCFP Awards, Fellowships and other honours including Family Physician of the Year to promote and advance the OCFP Awards and to arrange award ceremonies and presentations.

The Committee on Member Relations and Awards will plan and cause to be carried out initiatives to promote the retention of membership in OCFP through support and improvements in the quality of communications with key member constituents; namely, the general membership, family physician leaders, residents and medical students.

The Committee will develop multiple communication tools and will:

  • facilitate the identification of issues impacting upon the practices of our member constituents;
  • facilitate the member input into Board policy development;
  • assess the acceptability of OCFP’s advocacy agenda amongst members;
  • ensure that member communications are linked and consistent with public and government communication strategies

The Commitee oversees the Annual Regional Meetings in conjunction with the Regional Directors Committee in each region. Click here for dates of ARMs in your region.
