Dr. Hardie deferred her acceptance to medical school tocomplete her degrees in Physical and Health Education, Life Sciences at Queen’s University in Kingston. She graduated from the class of 9T1 at the University of Toronto, and stayed in the city for family medicineresidency at the Toronto East General Hospital. After abrief stint with Med Emerg she escaped north, and hasbeen in the Temiskaming Shores area ever since. She has enjoyed being a preceptor to medical students, residents and nurse practitioner for 9 years. She is currently practicing family medicine in Latchford and is the family physician affiliated with the Temiskaming Assertive Community Treatment Teamat the CMHA. She has active staff privileges at the Temiskaming Hospital where she is chair of the Continuing Medical Education Committee, the medical advisor to the Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Program, and the Chief of the Emergency Department.
Dr. Hardie is honoured to accept the Community Teacher of the Year Award for 2006.
