The Ontario College of Family Physicians recognizes the outstanding dedication of family physicians to their patients, their community, their profession and the OCFP by awarding seven family physicians (one from each region of the province) the title of "Family Physician of the Year." One of the seven is chosen as Ontario's Family Physician of the Year by the Member Relations Committee, and is recognized by the College of Family Physicians of Canada at the Family Medicine Forum as a winner of the Reg L. Perkin Award.
2011 Regional Family Physicians of the Year:

- Region 2 - Dr. Philip Vandewalle, Strathroy
- Region 3 - Dr. Katalin Ivanyi, Hamilton
- Region 4 - Dr. Robert Wei X. Chu, Georgetown
- Region 5 - Dr. Philip C. Hébert, Toronto (Winner of Reg. l. Perkin family Physician of the Year for
Ontario) - Region 6 - Dr. C. Raymond S. Dawes, Barry’s Bay

The seven Family Physicians of the Year for 2011 have been recognized in their own communities and provincially at the Annual Scientific Assembly on November 24, 2011 during the President's Installation and Awards Event.
